Proud Cowboy Hat Size Chart
If you don't know your hat size, use a cloth tape measure (or string) to measure, snugly, from mid-forehead, just over the ear stems, to the largest dimension at the back of the head. (All the way around.) Take this measurement and choose the best match from the chart below. If between sizes, round up to the larger size.

For large groups (dozens), we can provide a "bellcurve" of sizes to suit the distribution of the group. A percentage of extra hats, especially for smaller groups, should be considered to allow for deviations.

  • Men wear (mostly) 6-3/4 to 7-3/8, centered at 7-1/8. Do NOT guess. It's like guessing a shoe size.
  • Women wear (mostly) 6-5/8 to 7-1/4, centered at 7. Do NOT guess. It's like guessing a shoe size.
  • Small children don't always have tiny heads. Size can NOT be determined by age. Some toddlers wear 6-1/2 and some grown men and women wear that size too. Teenagers have fully grown heads.
  • English sizes are said to be 1/8 larger than U.S. (larger hat of the same size).
